Growing children's emotional health

Could you help our children cook up a storm?
Each term, we base ourselves in a primary school in London, to support a small group of children through a weekly after school Flourish Group. During Summer Term 2018, we'll be based in a primary school near Elephant & Castle. The group will be cooking themed.
Volunteers commit to attend over the full term, working with the children each week, cooking alongside them and sharing the amazing culinary creations they produce. You'll help them learn new skills, like how to knead dough or peel potatoes; you'll persuade them to be brave and try new foods and help them to make mistakes and laugh about it! Most of all, you'll be a fun, interested, caring adult, who they'll look forward to seeing at each session and updating about how their week has gone. We'll be cooking up a real storm - the kids will choose the majority of the recipes, but past groups of children have: made pasta from scratch; cooked up an Indian feast, complete with homemade Naan Breads; invented their own pizzas; had a pancake party and even made Easter Eggs!
No cooking skills are required, just a sense of fun! Food hygiene and other necessary training is provided.
This term's group will take place on Wednesdays, from 3-6pm, from April 25th April - 4th July, with a training and planning session on Wednesday 18th April (3.30-5.30).

Please get in touch ASAP! You will need to be able to commit to at least 6 sessions across the school term, so as to provide continuity for the children. As with all our volunteering roles, we'll need you to complete a volunteer application form, and undergo an enhanced DBS check. All volunteering roles are subject to a short interview and references, so as to comply with Safer Recruitment requirements.
